Wondrous Item, rare
This large egg features strange but colorful patterns on its shell. It is 1 foot in diameter and weighs 10 pounds. If you keep the egg warm and undisturbed for 30 consecutive days, it hatches. Roll a d12 and consult the following table to determine the creature that emerges.
The creature is friendly to you and your companions, and it acts on your turn, unless otherwise stated. You can use a bonus action to command how a friendly hatched creature moves and what action it takes on its next turn, or to give it general orders, such as to attack your enemies. In the absence of such orders, the creature acts in a fashion appropriate to its nature.

Posted Mar 28, 2022Unless there's a dire version of a frog, I feel like that would be the most disappointing result. OTOH, a 10-pound frog would be quite the sight! Even the Goliath frog is barely over 7 pounds.

Posted Apr 13, 2022I really like this item. My only suggestion would be to put the Swarm of Wasps on the 1 slot rather than the 12 slot. People love rolling high, so getting attacked by a rare magic item would be quite the disappointment.
