Atlatl

A two foot long handle that bends at the end opposite the grip. At the end of the bend is a short spike meant for notching a dart, javelin, spear, or yklwa.

The user of this item must be proficient with thrown weapons. This item can only be used when paired with a dart, javelin, spear, or yklwa.

Using a bonus action, a compatible weapon can be notched into the atlatl. Making an overhand throw as an Ranged Weapon Attack action, the user may choose to loose the weapon. The thrown weapon has twice the throwing range and has one additional damage die based on its current damage dice. For example, a spear thrown using an atlatl deals an additional 1d6 piercing damage.
