Armor (scale mail), very rare
Ice-blue scale mail armor with a +2 bonus to armor class. As a bonus action, you can cast armor of Agathys on yourself at 9th level, regaining this ability at dawn. You can then cast the ice knife spell at 1st level (spell save DC 15, +7 to hit). When you cast it, you subtract the cold damage dealt by the spell from the temporary hit points.
This armor consists of a coat and leggings (and perhaps a separate skirt) of leather covered with overlapping pieces of metal, much like the scales of a fish. The suit includes gauntlets.

Posted Feb 6, 2019Nice concept, although have you considered using a charges system instead of having to cast armor at max and subtract from it to use ice knife?
As a charges system would still lead to the same result but would allow more flexibility for the player. i.e if you want to use Ice knife you have to cast Armor of Agathys at lower level and start with that lower temporary hit points.
