Weapon (greatsword), legendary (requires attunement)

You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magical blade.

The blade has 10 charges and regains one charge each time its wielder rolls a critical hit against or kills another creature housing a soul as the blade absorbs a chunk of the creature's life force. You may expend up to 5 charges when declaring an attack with the blade to activate one or multiple of the following abilities, expending charges separately for each ability chosen:

-Seek: For each charge expended, gain a +1 bonus to the attack's attack roll.
-Smite: For each charge expended, the attack deals an additional d6 of force damage.
-Syphon: If at least one charge is expended on Syphon and the attack kills its target, the blade regains 3 charges as opposed to the one it would have regained.

As an action, you may expend 10 charges to activate one of the following abilities:

-Restore: Target creature within 30 feet regains 10d6+6 hit points.
-Rend: Make a single attack with the blade with a range of 30 feet. Instead of the blade's normal damage, the attack deals 15d6+6 force damage.
-Retreat: You teleport as with the spell Dimension Door, but may bring along 3 creatures within 15 feet of yourself rather than one within 5 feet.

For each charge the blade is lacking below 5, the wielder suffers a -1 penalty to death saving throws as the blade tries to rip off part of their soul. Each time the blade reaches 0 charges, the wielder suffers a point of exhaustion in a struggle to keep the blade from succeeding.

The curved blade pulsates with crackling red energy. Along its serrated edge lie numerous scratches, dents, and blemishes, each betraying years of use despite the blade's magical nature. It seems to pull at the very life force of organisms near it; this weapon is built for killing -- and welcomes it.

Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage, Combat, Heavy, Two-Handed, Graze
