This parchment is 1' and 6" in diameter and 1' in width. A creature attuned to the Atlas learns the spell teleportation circle if they did not already know it regardless of if it is in their class's ability to learn it. As the attuned creature explores the world, the Atlas begins to fill in all topographical details of the world around them within a 500-foot radius in all directions. While furled and while the command word has not been spoken, the Atlas appears to display topographical information from a top-down view, as if they were looking at a masterfully drawn map. The creature may speak the command word while unfurling the map to project the information from the map. The projected information shows a 3D view of what was last recorded on the map which also projects bright light in a 10-foot radius. The map does not show new changes to landscapes unless the creature re-visits that area. The map also does not show the presence of living beings in its contents, but will display elementals and creatures that are hidden within the landscape or other recorded structures, but does not label their presence as different from the surrounding area. The map will display the location of itself and the attuned creature in a fashion left to the discretion of yourself or your DM, but it must be significant enough to be visible while projected or not projected. Though more information may be present in the world than can physically be recorded on the Atlas, the Atlas will actively shrink information presented on its surface to make room for new information. While this information is projected the attuned creature may center on parts of the Atlas to regain higher quality that is lost when more information is added. This does not remove information already present on the Atlas. Inversely, the attuned creature may de-center on parts of the Atlas to gain a wider view of the recorded information. Furling the Atlas dispels its projection.
When the Atlas is moved from one plane to another, its contents go blank and it begins anew. If it has been moved to a plane it previously resided on, it regains any and all information it previously had about this plane in the state that it had it in when the Atlas left. If the Atlas is moved to the Astral Plane, it is washed clean and fails to recall any information of any Plane it has been on but is still connected to its bound teleportation circle which is still functional so long as the Atlas remains whole. The Atlas can only be destroyed or damaged by creatures residing in the Astral Plane or when swallowed by an Astral Dragon.
While a creature is attuned to the Atlas it may speak its command word. The Atlas will then produce a small cylinder of phoenix ash charcoal. A creature may use the Atlas as a focus, and the charcoal as a material component to cast the teleportation circle spell. The phoenix ash charcoal is consumed by this casting. When the circle is completed, the magic of charcoal causes it to become a teleportation circle that is bound to the Atlas. Treat this teleportation circle as permanent. No other creature may teleport to this teleportation circle unless designated so when the circle is created by the attuned creature. Designated creatures may use the Teleport spell to travel to this circle. This teleportation circle can only be teleported to from across other planes of existence by the Atlas. No other piece of charcoal may perform this process. Should the creature lose, or use the charcoal for any other purpose, the Atlas will only produce another piece after a phoenix feather has been furled inside of it.
A creature may use its action to speak the Atlas' second command word. When they do, the Atlas will cast the teleport spell. The creature who speaks the command word must designate any additional creatures the spell will target. This feature can only be used once every week.
