Created by an Artificer eager to demonstrate their skills and abilities this magic item was designed to be a tool so useful everyone would demand it upon seeing its abilities in the hopes of creating a superior model with enough income.
This adorable bee shaped mechanism is 3 inches long and made of a combination of polished brass, onyx, and two brilliant citrine gems that act as its eyes. It has a pair of tiny wings that silently keep it aloft.
Forgetful Assistant - Instead of requiring attunement the bee will follow the instructions of the creature who wears a simple brass ring with a hexagon pattern on it.
Battlefield Assistant -The bee is considered a magical object and is not a creature. The bee can enter and pass through hostile creature's space and does not provoke opportunity attacks. While perched on a player's shoulder or being held, the bee cannot be targeted by any attack or other harmful effect.
Doctor’s Assistant - (Evocation)
The bee has 8 charges and regains 1d6 + 2 expended charges daily at dawn. While the bee is within your space, you can command the bee to expend up to 3 of its charges as a bonus action to command the bee to heal a creature that you can see within 20 feet of you. The bee flies to the creature's space and touches its stinger to the creature, healing the creature for 1d6 hit points for each expended charge. After healing the creature, the bee returns to your space.
Painter’s Assistant* - (Transmutation)
You hold the bee in a direction you choose. The bees eyes flash with a bright light that can be seen by any creature within 120ft of it. The bee records the image in its memory until it is placed on a piece of paper, parchment, a stone or wooden surface.
The image is permanently inscribed on the material, but can be removed with either fire or scraping with a sharp tool. The image is in faded color, and if the image was captured in darkness, only vague details can be made out, as if it is being seen by a creature with darkvision.
Banker’s Assistant** - (Transmutation)
The bee touches a coin with its stinger and transmutes it into an equivalent amount in change in any denomination you choose (copper, silver, electrum, gold, or platinum).
Spelunker’s Assistant - (Evocation)
The bees eyes casts bright light in a 60-foot cone and dim light for an additional 60 feet. Once turned on the light will stay on until instructed to or until the bee enters an area with bright light.
