Aabereun's Bag of Alterlife Cubes is a small leather pouch embroidered with multicoloured transparent squares, almost resembling gelatinous cubes. Inside the pouch are 2d6 Tiny cubes made of a strange, gelatinous material. The Cubes shift colours constantly unless swallowed, in which case they become a random colour. If swallowed, roll 1d12 and consult the table below to decide what colour the Cube is and what effect it has on the consumer. The effects last 1d10 days. The colour of the consumer's eyes changes to that of the Cube. The consumer can have the effects of up to five different cubes at the same time. The Cubes have no effect on constructs or undead.

• Effect: The consumer ages 1d100 years, to a maximum of 20 years below its race's maximum age expectancy

• Colour: Blue
• Effect: The consumer becomes 1d100 years younger, to a minimum of 15 years old

• Colour: Black
• Effect: The next time the consumer kills a creature, it takes necrotic damage equal to double the hit dice of the creature

• Colour: White
• Effect: The next time the consumer dies, it is reborn as an aasimar 1d20 + 30 days later. It keeps all memories and abilities from its past self, but loses racial traits and gains those of an aasimar

• Colour: Green
• Effect: The creature gains the appearance of what it might look like in 1d100 years

• Colour: Yellow
• Effect: The creature gains the appearance of what it looked like 1d100 years ago, to a minimum of 15 years

• Colour: Pink
• Effect: The next time the consumer takes damage that would reduce it to 0 hit points, it instead drops (or increases) to 3d6 + 14 hit points

• Colour: Orange
• Effect: The next time the consumer takes damage, it takes an additional 4d8 + 6 fire damage. If the consumer is reduced to 0 hit points, it disintegrates into a pile of ash

• Colour: Purple
• Effect: The consumer becomes able to bring one creature that has been dead less than an hour back to life as a ghost. The consumer can only use this effect after a long rest

• Colour: Brown
• Effect: The consumer's skin turns the colour of dirt and becomes as hard as steel. Their AC without armour becomes 18

• Colour: Grey
• Effect: The next time the consumer dies, it is reincarnated as a wight

• Colour: Gold
• Effect: The consumer gains the timeless body feature of the Druid class, and the next time the creature dies, its body explodes in a huge sphere of light. Every hostile creature within 80 feet of the explosion takes 16d10 radiant damage. The body of the creature is obliterated, and can't be brought back from the dead, even while under the effect of a grey Alterlife Cube.

A greater restoration spell can end the effect(s) of one or more Cubes, as can a wish spell and other magic.
