This crystal has 3 charges and regains 1d3 at dawn. You can expend 1 to 3 charges when you cast a spell equal to the level of the spell. When you do you do not expend your spell slot as you would normally. Also you can expend 1 charge to increase to power of a spell to the next level (while still expending a spell slot equal to the original spell's level).
