This small sphere of black obsidian has 3 charges. While attuned and within 60 feet of it, you can use a bonus action to speak one of its command words.
The first command word causes the globe to absorb light in it's vicinity. This has the effect of creating a globe of nonmagical darkness in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. It lasts until you repeat the command word or use the second command word. This effect doesn't expend a charge.
A second command word expends one charge and causes it to cast the darkness spell centered on itself.
The third command word causes the globe to rise into the air and float to within 5 feet of you and no more than 5 feet off the ground. The globe hovers in this way until you or another creature grasps it. If you move more than 5 feet from the hovering globe, it follows you until it is within 5 feet of you. It takes the shortest route to do so. If prevented from moving, the globe sinks gently to the ground. This effect doesn't expend a charge.
The globe regains 1d3 charges when you finish a long rest.
