A spear of intricately carved platinum and gold intertwined, this perfectly balanced weapon was forged with the blessing of Erathis, the Law Bearer.
Dormant
The spear grants the following benefits in its dormant state:
- You gain advantage on Charisma (Persuasion) checks, but gain disadvantage on Charisma (Deception) checks.
- The wielder gains a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon.
- This weapon has the finesse property, allowing the wielder to use either their Strength or Dexterity modifier for the weapon's attack and damage rolls. Immediately after you make a ranged attack with this weapon, it flies back to your hand.
Awakened
When the spear reaches an awakened state, it gains the following properties:
- The weapon's bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to +2.
- You gain proficiency on Charisma (Persuasion) checks. If you already have proficiency on Persuasion checks, you gain expertise with that skill, which means your proficiency bonus is doubled for any Persuasion checks.
- While holding the spear, you can use an action to cast one of the following spells from it (save DC 15): Charm Person, Dominate Person, Zone of Truth, or Compulsion. Once a spell has been cast using the spear, that spell can't be cast from it again until the next dawn.
- You gain resistance to necrotic and radiant damage while you hold this weapon.
Exalted
When the spear reaches an exalted state, it gains the following properties:
- The weapon's bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to +3.
- The saving throw DC for spells cast from the spear increases to 17.
- Add Banishment to the list of spells that can be cast from the spear.
- When a creature hits you with a melee attack while you hold this weapon, you can use your reaction to force the target to make a Wisdom saving throw (save DC 17). On a failed save, the target takes 2d6 psychic damage and falls prone, and can no longer willingly attack you this round. On a successful save, the target takes half damage and suffers no additional effects.
Proficiency with a Spear allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Creature of Lawful Alignment, Thrown, Versatile, Sap
