The Shield Badge projects a shimmering magical screen that protects its wearer from attacks and magic missiles like the Shield spell but it doesn't expend the wearer's reaction.

This prototype of the Shield Badge actually receives its power from an eldritch machine generator and leverages the Syranian Manifest Zone. If the generator is destroyed or malfunctioning the charges do not replenish.  One charge is replenished every short rest.  Two charges are replenished for every long rest. If the wearer leaves the manifest zone, the Shield Badge becomes disabled.
