Amaratine Gunblade (Offhand)

Oklahria is a realm that has been closed off to the Twilight Realms for thousands of years before issues plaguing the realm meant that the ruling Tabaxi clans decided to open portal access to the land for travellers to come. Through the travellers exploring the realm, a new ore was discovered by a legendary group of artificers which they named Amaratine, this ore is able to be combined with weapons which use firearm characteristics to make for some explosive damage when wielded by those with proficiencies in using these weapons. 

You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made using this magic weapon.

This weapon may be used as a Revolver (if you have ammunition) or a shortsword if you are proficient with them.

Once per long rest, when you deal damage with a single target spell while attuned to this weapon, you gain 1d8 hit points in return. Doing the same thing with a multiple target spell regains 1d8 hit points halved and rounded up if odd number. 

One per short rest, you are also able to cast Lightning bolt at 3rd level. Once this has been used, you must complete a short rest before doing so again. 

It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.
