While you are wearing this amulet, you can activate it to undergo an instantaneous magical transformation that adapts your form for the sea, while preserving a noticeable resemblance to your original form. As a result of your aquatic alteration, being underwater feels as physically natural to you as being on land. In your adapted form, you can breathe underwater, and you have a swim speed of 30. Finally, if you do not already speak Aquan, you can understand and speak it while the amulet is active.
You can choose the exact nature of this transformation as long as it facilitates your adaption, although you can't gain any natural attacks you did not already have without the transformation. You can choose to lose your land speed or flight speed if you wish. For instance, a humanoid creature could choose to replace their legs with the tail of a merfolk, or an aaracokra could choose to replace their wings with large fins.
An Amulet of Merkind might be the invention of a mad wizard entranced by a siren at sea, or it might be a diplomatic tool used by a wealthy Merfolk nation to receive ambassadors from land-dwelling nations.
Notes: Set: Speed (Swimming), humanoid or beast, Buff, Utility, Shapechanging, Jewelry
