Artificer's Emitter

The Artificer's Emitter is a small tool that fits in the hand like a screwdriver and acts as an arcane focus, qualifying as alchemist's supplies if said supplies are also in the character's possession. The rear of the handle contains a number of sockets, one for each spell slot available, in which various elixirs for casting can be inserted. The end sprays the contents of the elixir chosen and a small series of crystals around the edge control the resulting spell as needed. If the user takes a critical hit, roll a d20. A roll of 1 results in an elixir being broken and a spell slot, starting with the lowest, expended until the next long rest.
