Anna

Anna is a sentient wooden rod. Anna's haft is painted a soft green, and at her top, she has a clear glass orb that holds an engraved gyroscope (that says, in Common, "the balance of the cosmos must never sway") and a lens inside it. The gyroscope has a spinning rotor that never slows down and always points upwards on the material plane. On any other plane (or in space) the rotor points upwards relative to its initial position on the new plane unless you instruct Anna to change the rotor's reference direction.

Warding. While you are attuned Anna, she can telepathically alert you to danger and you can't be surprised except when incapacitated. Anna magically awakens you if you are naturally sleeping a round after combat begins.

Sentience. Anna is a sentient true neutral spellcasting focus and has an Intelligence of 10 (+0), a Wisdom of 17 (+3), and charisma of 12 (+1). Anna is proficient in Perception (+5) and Insight (+4). Anna can see (with darkvision) and hear through the lens at her top up to 30 feet away in any direction. Anna can read and understand Common and Primordial. Anna can communicate by transmitting emotion to a creature carrying or wielding her, or she can converse through her host if she has forcefully taken control of a creature wielding her.

Personality. Anna "talks" with a calm, motherly tone and treats any creature interacting with her as if they were her child. Anna is the ancient spirit of a cleric of a long-dead god of balance, and she is bound by oath to keep balance in the cosmos. If a creature carrying Anna does anything to upset the cosmos' balance, a conflict between her and her wielder will start at noon the next day or during the next long rest. If the balance of the cosmos has already been upset, Anna will compel any creature carrying her to restore balance to the cosmos.
