Armor (breastplate), rare (requires attunement)

This suit of armor is reinforced with adamantine, one of the hardest substances in existence. While you're wearing it, any critical hit against you becomes a normal hit.

The armor has a number of charges equal to your proficiency modifier. As a reaction, you may expend a charge to attempt to prevent another creature from teleporting or leaving the current plane of existence. If you do, make a STR or CON check contested by the target's spellcasting ability. If you roll equal to or higher than the target, it remains tethered to its current plane of existence and is restricted to physical movement. The target may attempt to break the tether as an action on its turn by making the same contested check. If the target has no spellcasting ability, the check automatically fails. The armor regains all expended charges daily at dawn.

This armor consists of a fitted metal chest piece worn with supple leather. Although it leaves the legs and arms relatively unprotected, this armor provides good protection for the wearer's vital organs while leaving the wearer relatively unencumbered.
