Wondrous Item, rare

This leather bound tome is never found new, always worn and aged like an old man. Its typically maple brown cover is always found filled with a mess of scribbles and script written in a multitude of languages known and unknown. When translated, they appear to have relation to a word or phrase that has a magical effect in said language. Upon opening the tome, there is an image of it, an item description explaining how to use it, and a lore section that is oddly blank save for a signature that says "Written in the wisdom of collector Rook Goldwing". Beyond that the pages are infinite in number, an impossibility that certainly doesn't reasonably fit its actual width. Its contents contain any item that has ever been conceived and made, all with a picture, name, and lore about it. The pages have a curious habit of rearranging themselves however, sticking to no particular order or system of organization. This makes it nigh impossible to find an item or more about it without some prior knowledge of it.

While holding this tome, a player may cast the spell identify as if they knew it while chanting a specific phrase 'Unveil Rook's Insight'. The item they intend to identify needs to be placed near or under the tome in order to find the page with the item's description.

The wielder of the book may also take an hour to research a specific item they know the name or effect of.
- If only the name is known, only lore about the item will appear.
- If only the effect is known, only the name and type of item that can provide the desired effect will be found.
- If both the name and effect are known but no item is provided, then at the end of the research the book will provide 1d4+2 plausible locations to acquire the item or one similar to it. However this doesn't guarantee there will be a magic item at these locations.
