Alchemists Hot Block

A small, 1 inch, half iron and half granite cube. A rune of Heat Metal is etched into the granite. Using an action, the rune can be activated by touch, causing the metal side to heat up to red-hot. The heat metal effect is deactivated after an hour or by using an action to touch the rune once more on the insulated granite side. This block is commonly used in high end alchemical labs to heat flasks and experiments without the use of fuel like charcoal. Any creature that touches the metal while hot takes 1D8 fire damage at the start of each of the creatures turns, until the creature is no longer in contact with the heated metal.
