This unique set of full plate armor is made from the carapace of the rare and beautiful Regal Rhinoceros Beetle, studded from top to bottom with a rainbow array of multicolored gems. In addition to the following qualities, the suit is covered by 1,000 gp worth of semi-precious gems.

Gem Barrage. This power causes all gems in a 30 ft. radius to become deadly projectiles. As an action, each creature in the area must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw. The attack deals 1d6 points of bludgeoning damage for each 100 gp of gems in the zone of attack, (up to a maximum of 10d6), or half damage on a successful save. All gems used for this attack are destroyed.
Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
