Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement)

An ornate, mechanical amulet that seems to open and close, like an iris, and has strange astronomical drawings.

Any character that attunes to the item may use it as a sextant or compass, granting advantage on all land/sea/air checks regarding travel or getting lost.

Has 12 charges
Recharges 1d12 charges every 1st of a new month.

On any night that a star is visible, a wearer may expend 1 charge of the amulet to cast Find the Path

On any night that there is no moon, the wearer may expend 6 charges to cast Commune by looking through the amulet at a target star or constellation (must be visible, so no clouds or underground). Every divine being is represented by a star or constellation, and the user may contact any of them that are visible. The god's name or reality are not shared or known instinctively by the wearer, so caution and research are wise.

The last owner of the amulet, on a drunken bet, stared into the darkest part of the night sky and communed with "something" there. The poor man screamed, non-stop, for the duration of the spell until he collapsed, mentally broken by horrors spoken of by the distant being.
