A set of chained manacle restraints with five adjustable manacle-rings for a subjects ankles, wrists and neck, a sixth ring can be secured to a fixed mounting point and there is enough excess chain to grant a subject a 5 feet of movement. The Auric Inhibitors of Illumined Honesty are made of solid gold and are worth approximately 1000gp in material alone, however their true worth is in the enchantments that activate when used upon a creature.
The Auric Inhibitors of Illumined Honesty can only be used on humanoid creatures, but the manacle-rings can be adjusted to fit Large, Medium or Small subjects. In addition, they require no keys, instead, a manacle-ring that has been closed around a subjects ankle, wrist or neck can only be reopened by the creature that closed it. Other creatures can attempt to force a manacle-ring open by using an Action to make a Strength check against it, succeeding on a roll of 24 or higher. The item is immune to damage whilst worn.
When bound with the Auric Inhibitors of Illumined Honesty, a creature is Incapacitated and Restrained, but is immune to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. When a creature wearing these restraints lies or knowingly allows an omission to become a false conclusion, they suffer 2d6 psychic damage and the restraints will emit a bright red flash. In addition, when used to restrain an Evil aligned creature, these restraints inflict Disadvantage on the subjects Charisma ability checks and they will glow with a golden light that provides Bright Light with a radius of 5 feet, and Dim Light for a further 5 feet; the glow of these restraints cannot be blocked or obscured by magical darkness (though the light shed by them is), however, they can be obscured by completely covering them with opaque material.
