Weapon (warhammer), legendary (requires attunement)

This magical warhammer is made of wrought steel with a glowing explosive head, which resembles a steel bear with an orange glowing maw.

(Requires 15 strength to wield)

Attacks with this warhammer have +2 to attack rolls and damage.

Boomstick can perform additonal actions. Each action uses a number of charges, of which Boomstick has 4. At the start of your turn if you're missing any charges roll a d6 and on a 5 or a 6 the hammer regains 1 charge. You can only perform one of these per turn, for example 'Overhead Blow' cannot combo into 'Explosive Swing'.

The Boomsticks DC= 8+STR modifier+your proficiency modifier.

Actions:

Overhead blow (1 charge). As an attack you swing the hammer downwards, crushing the enemy into the ground and letting off a fiery explosion in the process. On a hit you deal 1 d8 additional fire damage. The target has to make a strength saving throw and on a fail is knocked prone. (creature must be one size bigger than you or smaller to be affected)

Explosive swing (2 charges). As an attack you swing the hammer sideways with all your might, channeling all the explosive energy into the head at once. The target is dealt 2 d8 additional fire damage and has to make a strength saving throw. On a failure they are blown 30 feet away from you. If they hit a wall or solid object they are dealt an additional 4d6 bludgeoning damage, similar to falling damage. (creature has advantage on the saving throw if they are larger than you)

Ground eruption (3 charges). As an action you plant the head of the warhammer into the ground at your feet and let loose all its energy, erupting the ground around you in a mighty explosion. every creature within a 20 foot radius, friend or foe, has to make a dexterity saving throw. On a fail they are dealt 8d8 fire damage and are knocked prone. The user of this ability also takes half damage from the backlash. The area of effect becomes difficult terrain after this ability is used.

 

Proficiency with a Warhammer allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Push. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can push the creature up to 10 feet straight away from yourself if it is Large or smaller.
