When you speak the command word, the surface of the blade of this weapon dances with arcing electricity, casting dim light in a 15 foot radius around you. Speaking the command word again removes this arcing. Whenever you hit a target with an attack, the target takes an additional 1d6 lightning damage and must make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw. A creature who is resistant or Immune to Lightning damage automatically succeeds. On a failed save, the creature is stunned until the start of their next turn.
Proficiency with a Greataxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Cleave. If you hit a creature with a melee attack roll using this weapon, you can make a melee attack roll with the weapon against a second creature within 5 feet of the first that is also within your reach. On a hit, the second creature takes the weapon’s damage, but don’t add your ability modifier to that damage unless that modifier is negative. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
Notes: Damage, Combat, Heavy, Two-Handed, Cleave

Posted Dec 16, 2018Can someone who has play tested this answer a question for me? I want to know how disruptive/effective the stun on this weapon actually is.
I think a DC 10 con save per hit seems quite reasonable (ie, it will stun lesser enemies fairly consistently, but tougher foes will resist regularly). But does it work out that way in practice?
I can see it going either way - useless or broken.

Posted Dec 21, 2018When my DM and I first created this axe my PC was only level 2 or 3 I believe so we tried to not make it too overpowered. I unfortunately keep forgetting to activate my axe lately because I've been enjoying too much Mead during sessions. I think tweaking the DC to 15 is a good way to make this axe more in line with higher power items though.
