While holding this shield, you have a +1 bonus to AC. This bonus is in addition to the shield's normal bonus to AC. This shield has golden details and depicts a painted emblem of an apple tree.
The shield has a special property: once per day a creature wearing the item can touch the shield, causing a delicious-looking apple to appear in its hands, which, if eaten within an hour, works as a Healing Potion.
In the hands of an undead creature, the shield loses its special property (but still retains its +1 bonus) and the emblem transfigures into the image of a dry, twisted tree.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
