Weapon (longsword), legendary (requires attunement by a Creature of non-good alignment)

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. When you hit a good creature with it, that creature takes an extra 2d10 necrotic damage.

When the wielder is hit by an attack of targeted by magic missile, they may choose to expend one charge to create a death shield surrounding them. This acts as a the spell Shield increasing AC by +5 until the start of the wielders next with the additional property of being surrounded swirling necrotic energy. If a creature hits the wielder with a melee attack while this effect is active, the creature takes 2d10 necrotic damage.

Anguish has 3 charges, all of which are regained after the wielder takes a long rest.

Sentience. Anguish is a sentient, neutral evil weapon with an Intelligence of 10, a Wisdom of 8, and a Charisma of 18. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. It can read and understand Abyssal and Infernal. It can communicate telepathically with its wielder.

Personality. During the ritual that transformed Thorullot from an ultroloth into their unique form the essences of multiple ultroloths were captured to fuel this transformation. A portion of these essences were infused into Anguish. Anguish has no memory of the individuals that were consumed in its creation. It retained the desire to inflict suffering and encourages its wielder to inflict pain on others.

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
