The Ambusher's Crossbow changes to blend into it's environment, concealing the user from their targets. The front limbs of the crossbow shift to match their surroundings (like appearing to be bushes/branches in a forest, dirt and stone in the hills/mountains, etc). The magical effects of the crossbow only activate when the wielder is perched up and prone, when mobile, the Ambusher's crossbow acts just like a standard Heavy crossbow. While Prone, you gain the following benefits when using the Ambusher's Crossbow:
- You ignore the standard Disadvantage to weapon attacks to fire the Ambusher's Crossbow when prone.
- Once per turn, you can do an extra 2d6 piercing damage to a target when you hit with a ranged attack.
- You ranged weapon attacks do not reveal your position, even on a hit.
- The camouflage the crossbow provides gives you a +2 bonus to stealth checks to remain hidden.
Proficiency with a Heavy Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Push. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can push the creature up to 10 feet straight away from yourself if it is Large or smaller.
