While attuned to this shield, you have proficiency with shields if you do not already. This shield can be used as a spellcasting focus for your spells.
When casting Bless, the bonus granted increases to 2d4 if the spell is cast at 5th level or higher.
While wearing this shield, you can use your reaction to absorb a spell or ability targeting an area of effect within 30 feet of you that would cause creatures in that area to take damage on a failed saving throw and has an instantaneous duration, nullifying the spell or effect. When you do so, make a saving throw against the effect using your spellcasting ability. On a failure, you are subjected to the absorbed effect. On a success, you are unaffected by the absorbed effect, and can confine the effect into a mote of energy, and fire it at a creature you can see within 90ft. Make a ranged spell attack using your own spell attack bonus, dealing the same damage on hit that would have been dealt on a failed saving throw to the effect. Any affects in addition to the damage do not apply to this attack.
You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier, and any uses are regained on a long rest.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
Notes: Proficiency: Shields, Aasimar, Combat, Warding
