Weapon (glaive), rare (requires attunement)

To the casual observer, this device appears to be a steel spear or glaive pole, decorated with gold vines and an underlying pattern made of garnet, and an ornate socket with a sun pattern on it. While grasping the pole, you can use a bonus action to cause a blade of pure golden light to erupt from the socket, or make the blade disappear. While the blade exists, this magic pole arm has the versatile property. In addition, the back of the pole arm erupts in deep crimson magical flame.

You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon. When you hit an undead with it, that target takes an extra 1d8 fire damage.

The pole arm's luminous blade emits bright light in a 15-foot radius and dim light for an additional 15 feet. The light is sunlight. While the blade persists, you can use an action to expand or reduce its radius of bright and dim light by 5 feet each, to a maximum of 30 feet each or a minimum of 10 feet each.

If Aubade's wielder has the Polearm Master feat, the wielder does an additional 1d4 fire damage on a successful hit.

Proficiency with a Glaive allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
