A crossbow made from dark gray metal and with a thin, black material for its string, this weapon is different than what you would get from a normal merchant. The front appears to swivel slightly whenever you're fighting something, pointing towards your target.
The trigger produces no visible effect when the bow is unloaded, but crossbow bolts loaded into the bow snap into place and, when fired, appear to trail sparks behind them, and seem to accelerate before traveling on a more normal ballistic trajectory.
A button on the back of the stock makes the limbs fold in, making it impossible to fire without pressing the button again to make the limbs re-extend.
Proficiency with a Hand Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
