This silver shield is tinted to a light blue, with a weeping face engraved on its front. You feel a sense of deep regret when you grip its handle, and the beautiful freedom of forgiveness accompanying it. It possesses the following effects;

• Sentience: Absolution holds within it a feeling of lingering sorrow mixed with gracious acceptance, the will of a wordless Lawful Good creature. When its wielder attempts to perform particularly heinous acts, the shield may attempt to prevent them.
• Forgiveness: Once per long rest. When the wielder is struck with a critical hit, they may use a reaction to heal up to six targets of their choosing within a 30ft radius around them for 2d8+4 hit points.
• Redemption: Once per long rest. When an ally creature within 30ft of the wielder is struck with a critical hit, the wielder may use a reaction to heal them for half of the attack's total damage.

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
