The Ashitioka Corporation created the energy blade due to popular demand of the public for such a weapon. It's only after having them out in public that they discovered just how dangerous they are to both the enemy, and the wielder.
This weapon appears to be a simple longsword handle, with no blade. Upon drawing the handle, and activating a button, a stream of pure energy emits from the hilt. This weapon deals 4d10 radiant damage on a hit. On a critical hit, this weapon can bisect, or decapitate a target in a single swing. Equipped with a dead-man's switch, should the hilt not be let-go of, it instantly deactivates. This safety feature was required after the orbital defense station Omega 4 accident where 39 people died.
On a critical miss, this weapon causes the wielder to permanently lose an extremity, chosen at random using 1d6 according to the following table:
- 1 - Main Arm (all subsequent attacks have disadvantage)
- 2 - Off-hand Arm
- 3 - Left Leg
- 4 - Right Leg
- 5 - Ear (disadvantage on all perception checks involving hearing)
- 6 - Head (Wielder dies)
Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
Notes: Replace Damage Type: Radiant, Damage: Radiant, Damage, Combat, Finesse, Light, Vex
