Adamantine is a rare, extremely hard alloy of adamant and other metals. It appears jet-black with a green sheen when viewed by candlelight or a purple-white sheen when viewed by magical light. Weapons made from adamantine are unusually effective when used to break objects, including the weapons and armor of opponents. Adamantine armor and shields are nearly impenetrable to normal weapons.
