Staff (quarterstaff), rare (requires attunement)

You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. Proficiency with a quarterstaff allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

The staff grants the wielder the ability to cast the spell Slow on a single target without material components twice per long rest, using the caster's own spell save DC. The affected target feels sluggish, like they have just eaten an extra-large helping... of dumplings! The staff regains its two charges after the player takes a long rest.

Curse: Once the player attunes to the staff, the staff gives the player an unnatural hunger for dumplings. This curse can only be lifted by removing the attunement. 

 

Proficiency with a Quarterstaff allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
