this sentient vial of shadows hungers for knowledge and power and offers these in exchange for completing his trials. once all trials are complete you gain the ability to summon a staff made of shadows that can be used as a spell casting focus. A kusarigama (sickle and chain) made of shadows that has a ranged attack. and a shield of shadows that gives a bonus to AC of +2. they can all be combined into a shadow scythe with hybrid abilities. the vial can consume magic items that don't produce light and gain their properties for a cost (this is classified as a ritual).
Notes: use the teleport through shadows ability and teleport at least 60 feet with an empty vial and on a dc 18 or higher you fill the vial with shadows. once the shadows are captured they become sentient and request a series of trials be completed with the promise of power and knowledge.
