Armor (plate), very rare (requires attunement by a by a gnome artificer armorer)

A 7ft tall mechanical suit that a gnome artificer can pilot. The pilot must be no taller than 3'5". While wearing this suit, your strength score becomes 14 and your dexterity score becomes 8.

The Armor of Elements requires fuel to operate in the form of special fuel rods. Each rod generates enough energy to power the suit for 24 hours of continuous heavy use (e.g., combat) or up to 1 week of light use (e.g., travel). The suit does not consume any power when stagnant.

By expending one whole fuel rod, you can enhance your armor with elemental abilities corresponding to that rod. When enhanced, you gain two of the following benefits for one hour. These benefits can be dismissed as a bonus action, but dismissing them early does not recharge the fuel rod.

Elemental Resistance: You have resistance against attacks of the element with which your armor is enhanced.

Elemental Proficiency: You have a +1 to hit for elemental attacks of the same type as your enhancement, and successful attacks deal an extra 2d6 of elemental damage.

Increased Damage: Attacks made while wearing enhanced armor deal an extra 1d4 of elemental damage.

At level 10, enhancing your armor yields all three of the benefits listed above.

Once you attune to this armor, it must become your spellcasting focus. Separation from the armor negates the ability to cast spells.

Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
