As a bonus action, the character wearing the amulet and atuned to it can project a sphere of annihilation to 5 ft away. This black sphere, 2 feet in diameter, is a hole in the multiverse. It levitates on the spot and is stabilized by a magic field that surrounds it. This sphere erases the existence of all matter that it passes through and that passes through it. Artifacts are the exception. Unless an artifact is likely to damage the annihilation sphere, it can pass through without being affected by it. Anything else that touches the sphere without being completely engulfed and obliterated by it takes 4d10 force damage.
The sphere remains stationary until the bound character takes control of it. He can use a bonus action to make an Intelligence (Arcana) roll DD 15. If successful, the sphere levitates in a direction of his choice, for a maximum distance in feet to his Intelligence modifier (minimum 10 ft). If it fails, the sphere moves 10 in a random direction. A creature whose space is penetrated by the sphere must succeed in a Dexterity saving throw DD 13 or else be touched by the sphere and suffer 4d10 force damage.
The amulet prevents any undead from coming within150 ft of the character.
Curses. The character atuned to the amulet loses 1d4 hit points from his maximum hit points for each use of it. These life points are lost permanently. Using the amulet is not a free act, it feeds on the energy of its wearer. It is not known where this energy is sent.
The character ages 3 years with each use. The amulet seeks to make all life disappear.
The character atuned to the amulet can no longer enjoy the benefits of a short rest. This object represents everything that is opposed to life and death. It is an obliteration of reality. By its side, everything is doomed to disappear.
History. Acererak, the archlich of the plans, has arranged several simulacra of his person in the multiverse. In the Fragmented Realms, in the Ruins of Oppida lies the Tomb of Horrors, where the half-lich Set, a simulacrum of Acherak, lies. The tomb, like all the others in the multiverse, is used to lure the unfortunate into its bosom and devour their souls, in order to feed the phylactery of the archlich .
However, in order to make such tombs throughout the multiverse and meet the specifications required by Acherak, she must place a special hole in them that annihilates all matter, including herself. Generally, she places this gaping hole into nothingness at the entrance of the tomb. The farthest from the resting place of her simulacrum.
Surprisingly, a relatively powerful mage named Alleyn Morsépines, accompanied by some brave adventurers, managed to transmit sketches of the tomb. But the most valuable thing he recovered was the elements necessary to make an amulet of annihilation, capable of annihilating any creature living or dead, tangible or not. He had with him a messenger stone and his partner in the Hawthorn Mage Tower.
The entire group of adventurers accompanying Alleyn was destroyed. Alleyn, himself, succumbed to his wounds before rising from the grave...
Descriptions. This pendant with a gold chain has a demon's face, its mouth open and threatening with its two pure emeralds. The demon's mouth is a boneless abyss. It is a miniature sphere of annihilation. Whoever puts his finger in it or anything else, realizes with surprise that he is gone. He is lost forever in the void.
