This armor looks to encase a humanoid creature in head to toe in metal if you so wish you can make a investigation check on the armor if someone succeeds they will see slight spectral tentacles on the face of the helmet. This armor gives you advantage on arcana checks and resistance if not out right immunity from ilithids depending on the circumstances and your dms discretion.
If the wearer is to encounter an ilithid they will both feel a sense of comraderie and will try not to attack eachother if there are other options at the Dms discretion
Brain extraction: Melee magical Attack: Spell attack modifier to hit, reach 5 ft., one incapacitated humanoid grappled by the mind flayer. Hit: The target takes (The main class level d10) piercing damage. If this damage reduces the target to 0 hit points, the mind flayer kills the target by extracting and absorbing the targets brain into the wearers face. Half plate consists of shaped metal plates that cover most of the wearer's body. It does not include leg protection beyond simple greaves that are attached with leather straps.
