This magical javelin was invented by Zilker Ya'Naire, inventor of the airship. Zilker designed this weapon for officers of the Arlan Sky Fleet. It is both powerful and a symbol of status, known amongst the ASF as the "Bolt from the Blue."
You have a +1 bonus to all attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. Additionally, once per day you may speak the javelin's command word. The javelin vibrates slightly and glows with white light. If your next thrown javelin attack hits, the target creature takes an additional 4d6 lightning damage. Immediately after impact on the target creature, a thunderous boom echoes from the javelin. The boom can be heard from three hundred feet away. All creatures within 15 feet of the target must succeed on a DC 13 CON saving throw or take 2d8 thunder damage and be violently pushed 10 feet away from the javelin's impact point. On a successful save, the creatures within the radius take half damage and are not pushed. (The original target of the ASF Officer's Bolt does not take thunder damage, only lightning damage.) When using the javelin's lightning ability, your normal range is 120 feet (not 30 ft), and your long range is 300 feet (not 120 ft). If you speak the javelin's command word and your next thrown attack misses, the javelin's property is lost for that day and cannot be used again until the following day. However, it is still a +1 magic weapon and still returns magically to your hand.
Finally, each ASF issued Officer's Bolt comes with a bracer that fits around the wrist. This bracer automatically recalls the javelin to your hand after you throw it. This returning effect cannot be used to retrieve items you hit with the bolt, nor can the bolt do damage on its return trip to your hand. However, the bracer can connect to multiple ASF Officer's Bolts.
Proficiency with a Javelin allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage: Lightning, Damage, Combat, Thrown, Slow
