This hand-axe strikes fear into those who recognize the symbol visible upon its head. The handle is a dark ivory, curling down to a point at the end, resembling a long demonic horn. The axe-head is a dark crimson color, and holds the symbol of Asmodeus upon either side of it, crudely etched into the sides and much darker than the blade.
The damage die is 1d8 slashing, and the axe grants the user some abilities:
Strike Fear: The user may choose a target, and show them their dedication to Asmodeus. The target must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw, or become frightened by the user for 1 minute. The target may repeat the saving throw at the end of their turn, where the effect ends if they succeed. If the effect ends for whatever reason, any previously affected creatures are immune to Strike Fear.
Serpent's Rage: As a bonus action, the axe-head morphs into a long, flaming whip, with a forked tongue adorning the end. The whip has Reach, and deals 1d4 slashing and 1d4 fire damage if an attack hits. While in this form, the weapon can be used to cast Fire Bolt up to 3 times a day (1d10 fire damage on a successful ranged magic attack). The weapon stays like this for as long as the user wills it.
Loyalty: Should the weapon be removed from the user's hand, they may will it back into their hands as a bonus action. The weapon must be within 60ft of the user for them to use this ability, otherwise it does nothing.
Proficiency with a Handaxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
