Weapon (shortsword), legendary (requires attunement by a Monk)

This sword was formed by the great brass dragon, Amon'Sharrah, who forged the blade using a beam of moonlight and bestowed it to the care of Master Aunzo of the Monastery of the Tranquil Sea. Master Aunzo was an enlightened monk who shared Amon'Sharrah's passion and desire for tranquility, and was one of the few who understood the sacrifices necessary to obtain that harmony.

Amon'Sharrah's intent was to use the sword to pierce the weave which makes the harmony of life, allowing it's bearer to weave themselves into that symphony. Thus, she charged Master Aunzo with guiding it's bearer to maintain the harmony of life. Upon accepting the charge Master Aunzo shed his material form and became an astral entity only able to be seen by those potentially worthy to wield the sword. After a bearer is chosen a ritual of death and rebirth is performed to begin the weaving process. Once the weaving process begins Master Aunzo's astral form is transferred to the sword.

Any monk who is chosen by Master Aunzo and goes through the ritual of death and rebirth can attune to this sword, as a sign of the weaving process beginning. Once attuned the sword gains the following attributes:

Magic Weapon. You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage with this weapon.

Healing Energy. This sword is able to cause the flow of life to direct it's course through the bearer. While attuned to this sword you can use a bonus action to heal yourself for 4d4+4 hit points. This property can be used once per day and recharges at dawn.

Lore of the Weave. This sword is able to access and interpret the natural energy that flows through any person, place or object. While attuned to this sword you can cast the spell Legend Lore. This property can be used once per day and recharges at dawn.

Compose. This sword is able to read and alter the vibrations emanating from others' minds. While attuned to this sword you can cast the spell Dream. This property can be used once per day and recharges at dawn.

Harmonic Sense. This sword bestows it's bearer with insight beyond their natural senses. While attuned to this sword you gain Blindsight up to 30ft.

Sentience. Aunzo's Bane carries the life force of Master Aunzo, an enlightened monk from the Monk from the Monastery of the Tranquil Sea. During his life Master Aunzo grew a deep appreciation for the harmony of life and has great contempt for those things that would disrupt that flow.

Master Aunzo can first appear to worthy disciples in any form, but typically prefers that of his previous material form. Worthy disciples must be monks, and preferably from the discipline of the Open Hand which allows the monk the opportunity to learn the quivering palm technique, which lends itself naturally to the harmonic weave. Worthy monks are then slain, typically by Aunzo himself, and then are blessed with rebirth. The rebirth can place the monk in any location at any time, and at any age.

Once rebirth takes place Master Aunzo's life force is contained within the sword, giving it sentience, and responds to the bearer as such. The sentience is neutral good and has an intelligence of 14, wisdom of 20, and charisma of 12. The sword has hearing and vision normal to a human. The sword communicates telepathically and can speak, read, and understand common and primordial.

Personality. Unlike other enlightened beings Master Aunzo prefers to communicate to it's bearer on their level. He finds this method preferrable versus talking in riddles and metaphors that may never be interpreted correctly. Indeed, this method may include harsh criticisms typical of a master-student relationship.

If attuned to this sword the wielder may meditate on this sword, and upon saying Aunzo's name, can communicate more directly. In these instances Master Aunzo is more apt to instruct in a more refined tone. In addition, if the bearer continues to develop in a manner sufficient to Master Aunzo he may communicate more serenely and with respect.

Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
