This Breastplate has scales etched in the front and back that mimic the design of an alligator's hide. Unnatuned, this armor can be used as a +1 breastplate.
When attuned, this armor grants the following effects in addition to the normal bonuses:
Your eyes appear as alligator eyes, complete with a set of second eyelids that open and close horizontally: You have 120 feet of darkvision while underwater.
Gain an additional +2 to AC: when you speak the command word and expend a charge as a bonus action, your skin transforms into thick alligator hide below the neckline for 1 minute.
Your swim speed becomes double your walking speed. Whenever you enter water, the armor grows an alligator tail that propels you forward silently.
You can hold your breath for a number of hours equal to your constitution modifier.
This armor consists of a fitted metal chest piece worn with supple leather. Although it leaves the legs and arms relatively unprotected, this armor provides good protection for the wearer's vital organs while leaving the wearer relatively unencumbered.
