This manuscript was created by Aabaac The vile, a beholder wizard, who created items of agony and hatred. This artifact contains the a soul of every single monster. They all merged to create a single personality. It sounds like a male orc, with a raspy voice. It's pages are full of information of monsters and other knowledge. Some of the words change from red to black time to time. If you read the changing words, you will gain a special trait or attack from the monster the words were about. If the word you read out was about a mimic, you would gain one of it's traits and one attack from it for a round. Each time you do this, you must make a DC 5 constitution saving throw, or gain the trait and attack forever. If you got to the back of the tome, you will see pages of previous owners who mixed their blood with the pages of the book. Once you have put your blood with the book, a page about you shall appear. If you fail the saving throw at different times, you will begin to look like a hybrid of monster and man.
