Weapon (glaive), very rare (requires attunement by a Soulbound blood pact)

This Scythe originally belonged to one of the Avatars of Death. It feels weightless but at the same time has an enormous weight behind it. Because of the weightlessness the player can choose to use DEX over STR for attacks and damage. The Scythe resizes to the wielders size so it always fits

When the player picks up the weapon, until attunement, they no longer gain health from Short or Long rests due to the souls draining the character while sleeping
To attune to the weapon the player must form a blood pact with the Lord of the Dead (or the equivalent in your campaign). Before a long rest they must create an offering circle with the scythe in the middle, then draw blood to drip upon the blade of the scythe. With this pact they offer up their services to the Lord of the Dead to help dead find their way to the after life. The scythe can be stored in the Ethereal plane as a way to not scare people. In combat the scythe can be pulled from the Ethereal plane instantly as a free action

Before attunement curse: After the player picks up the scythe, it can not be more than 5ft away from the character. While this weapon is in the possession of the player they no longer gain health from Short or Long rests until attunement or removal of the curse

After attunement curse: The character can ONLY use the scythe in combat for weapon attacks. Spell attacks can still be used as long as the scythe is in one hand. Additionally there is an air of wet soil, like a freshly dug grave, constantly following the character that unnerves some people. While wielding the scythe, one side of the players face, the skin shimmers and appears see-through down to the bone as well as the dominant hand. The same side eye socket appears empty. This also grants advantage on intimidation checks while wielding

To remove curse: Before attunement Remove Curse is needed. After attunement the offering circle must be made again to commune with the Lord of the Dead in order to ask to be released from their duty along side a Remove Curse spell, the scythe is then taken by the Lord of the Dead to the Ethereal plane

The Scythe is still cursed afterwards, it is only removed from the player
