Athena's Soul Orb

Despite being armed with her grandmother's staff, Calliope had traded her soul to the Dark Powers of Barovia, and used their power to avoid certain death several times. In the battle at Argynostholt, Calliope drew upon the powers of the Eye of Shadows once more, and fell under its control. She defeated the revenant-knight Sir Vladimir Horngaard and began to fly over to the Amber Temple to finalize Cyril's contract.

However, deep within Calliope, her grandmother's soul helped guide her through her memories to remind her of who she is. She eventually confronted the shadow of Cyril's Dark Lord, Baron Metus, an imposing figure with a black hole for a head, who had ties to Rudolph van Richten's past. With the help of her companions' mist forms, she defeated Baron Metus and took control of her soul back from the Dark Powers. Later, after Calliope and her companions reconsecrated all three Fanes of Barovia, the Seeker empowered her staff further.

Mists swirl within the orb atop her staff. It thrums with an otherworldly azure flame and fills her with confidence. It has the ability to cast Bardic Exaltation.

• Once per Short Rest, as an Action, you can channel Bardic Inspiration through Athena’s Soul Orb and distribute it to all creatures of your choice within 300 feet.
• This effect stacks with Tales from Beyond; every affected creature can roll on the table and get a different buff.
