This handheld astrolabe accurately depicts the current position of the planets and various other objects in the solar system, as long as they would be large enough to fit on the metal sticks that hold them. However, objects that would be too small to be present in this astrolabe nonetheless can be felt, and might prick a stray finger that intersects with a fast-moving object's motion. Any artificial objects of relevant scale would be present as well, but would not be held up by a metal stick and simply float instead.
Natural and magical effects on extremely large scales can also be felt, with the sun feeling warm to the touch and a continent-wide spell possibly generating a glow over the continent on the miniature model of the planet. These miniature effects cannot cause any harm and are only simplistic representations of real-world events.
