Weapon (crossbow, heavy), artifact (requires attunement by a Time)

This all-metal [mundane] heavy crossbow is expertly crafted by Heckler and Coke, a celebrated design duo consisting of an elf and a dwarf, both known for their eccentricities as well as their skill with various weapons. Contains a loading property and ammunition property, requires attunement. Range 200/500 (201-500 disadvantage). Mounted atop the crossbow is a special magical magnification optic that can switch between darkvision, ultraviolet, infrared, or thermal. Mounted underneath the weapon is a collapsible bipod. The weapon confers additional bonuses for usage whilst prone. All bonuses stack with Fighting Style: Archery feat and Crossbow Expert feat. NOT PRONE: damage: 2d8 optic use: +1 to hit, reduce called shot from -4 to -3 -- wielder with Sharpshooter feat uses feat as they would normally. PRONE: wielder may spend a round to go prone and set up heavy arbalest on bipod. Doing so will not allow bonus movement/dash after turn, as the weapon needs to be "torn down". damage: 2d10 optic use: +2 to hit, reduce called shots -4 to -2 if prone. -- wielder with Sharpshooter feat may increase max effective range to 800 by using the optic prone and declaring called shot as range increase. -- wielder with Sharpshooter feat may use optic in prone to reduce the -5 penalty to -3 -- wielder with Sharpshooter using optic whilst prone will see their called shots will crit on Nat.18-20. A nat20 goes to Crit Hit chart.
