Armor (leather), very rare

A few months before the Invoked Devastation was inflicted on the unsuspecting people of the Baklunish Empire by the Suel Archmage Council, a gifted Sorcerer-Blacksmith living in the capital city of Udrukankar, by the name of Selim Al'Akdin, completed the creation of his masterpiece : a set of leather armor, comprising a fine body armor, a helmet, two armbands and a pair of boots.

The set was to be delivered to the Royal Palace Guard sentries Captain, as a demonstrator of excellence, and supposed to grant Al'Akdin a huge business opportunity as he hoped to be ordered a full complement to equip the 3 dozen strong elite company.

Unfortunately, on the day of delivery for the first set, the Cataclysm fell upon the capital and the set was lost, as Al'Akdin and all palace guards, along with the vast majority of the Baklunish people living there, lost their lives to the Devastation.

The central part of the set, the body armor, was retrieved nearly one century later by adventurers, while the knowledge of the existence of the set was lost.

The body armor is made of exquisite bull leather, reinforced with steel joints and straps, and adorned with lavish gold inlaids marking the ancient Imperial Regalia. It weights half the usual weight of a leather body armor, around 5 lbs, and is exceptionally comfy to wear. Easy and fast to equip and unequip, it provides a +2 Bonus to AC, without any prerequisite on Dexterity or Force minima to use it.

Apart from the AC bonus, the armor provides a supplemental Short Rest period to its bearer, once a day, and only needs to be exposed to direct sunlight during one hour in order to re-enact this feature. Thus it is an ideal armor for long standing sentries on surveillance tasks, notably for Palace or Fortress security duty.

All other parts of the set have specific features, and if anyone was to reunite all parts, and have them worn together, a supplemental passive power would be available : an energy field activates around the wearer, preventing magic missiles to penetrate and giving disavantadge to any missile attack on the wearer. This field is active at all times as long as the entire set is worn.

The breastplate and shoulder protectors of this armor are made of leather that has been stiffened by being boiled in oil. The rest of the armor is made of softer and more flexible materials.
