Armor (plate), artifact

This plate armor was once worn by the prince and terrorist known as "The Rapper". The armor is a gleaming jet black made out of highly reflective volcanic glass. The armor is entirely plain besides a large dark purple circle, 2 feet in diameter in the center of the chestplate. A spiral pattern of purple and black in the circle appear to very slowly and gently rotate in a strangely calming manner. Legends say the prince was wearing this armor when he survived a direct hit from a cannonball. He then proceeded to launch that same projectile back at the enemy, killing the canon operator from over 500 feet away.

The portal on the chestplate is an opening to an interior space considerably larger than its outside dimensions, roughly 2 feet in diameter at the mouth and 4 feet deep. The portal can hold up to 500 pounds, not exceeding a volume of 64 cubic feet. The armor weighs 60 pounds, regardless of its contents. Retrieving an item from the portal requires an action.

Breathing creatures inside the portal can survive up to a number of minutes equal to 10 divided by the number of creatures (minimum 1 minute), after which time they begin to suffocate.

The portal on the chestplate can be used to catch projectiles launched at the wearer. While you are wearing this armor, you can use your reaction to store a ranged attack or ranged spell attack that is targeting only you and does not have an area of effect.

You may store a maximum of 5 projectiles at a time that you may use to unleash simultaneously from your chest as an action. When you do so, make a ranged attack for each projectile as if they were a ranged weapon you are proficient with.

At the end of a long rest, any stored projectiles lose their momentum and fall harmlessly to the ground in the interior of the chestplate.

Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
