An amethystine gemstone, radiating with magical energy. A crystallized remnant from an unknown arcane cataclysm that occurred on an unnamed plane of existence a millennia ago that sent fragments hurtling across the multiverse. They contain a varying number of charges, up to a maximum of 25. Use of a charge grants a magic wielder the use of one of two special abilities:
Magic Boost. You can cast a spell at one spell level higher than the expended spell slot.
Spellslinger. You can cast a spell that requires a casting time of one action as a bonus action instead. This skill also grants the caster the ability to cast two spells on that same turn.
Certain merchants and magical beings can rekindle their latent energy at the cost of 25 GP per charge. Spending downtime focusing low-level magical energy into a crystal can also reignite it, at a rate of 2 hours per charge.
Use of the final charge consumes and destroys the crystal.
