Weapon (battleaxe), rare (requires attunement by a Attunes immediately after being picked up)

This axe, made of mysterious black metal and a head engraved with images of wolves, bears, tigers, and boars, emanates with a pale, almost lunar glow.

When this axe is picked up, the new wielder immediately attunes to it and now has the curse of lycanthropy and must roll a d4 to determine what kind of lycanthropy they have. (See chart below.)

This axe grants a +2 to attack rolls and damage. When rolling for attacks and the d20 lands on a 19 or 20, the target creature must make a DC 15 constitution saving throw. On a success, nothing happens; on a fail, the target creature now has the curse of lycanthropy and must roll a d4 to determine what kind of lycanthropy they have.

The axe has 8 charges that recharge each full moon.

1 - Were-bear

2 - Werewolf

3 - Were-tiger

4 - Were-boar

The affected creature, if attuned to this axe, can have the curse removed while still retaining attunement via the Remove Curse spell or the Greater Restoration spell. The spell must be cast as a ritual during the night of a full moon.

Proficiency with a Battleaxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.

Notes: Attunes immediately after being picked up, Versatile, Topple
